The annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive gathered a record of 73.4 million pounds of food this year, considering the weak economy. The National Association of Letter Carriers held the annual drive May 9, gathering donated items as they delivered their mail. Union president William H. Young said Monday the drive was "an amazing testimony to the generosity of the American people even as they themselves struggle to make ends meet." The total pounds of food of the donated items was 73,414,533, which rose from 73.1 million last year. All through the 17 years the drive has been held, they have now gathered 982 million pounds of food for the needy. The top collector was the union's West Coast Florida branch in St. Petersburg with 1.7 million pounds of food and Buffalo/Western New York came in second.

I chose this article because I think its great that mailmen/women are collecting food for the needy. Its a very nice thing to do for the community. They work for and in the community so why not help out the community. This also shows that they are good people and that they actually care about the people they deliver mail to.

Yes, I definitely agree with this article because people out there are going hungry as we speak and they need food. I'm sure all of us have one can of food in our cabinets that we aren't going to eat that we can spare to someone who doesn't have any food at all.

Yes, I do think this information was presented fairly. The article was a little short, but I guess there is not much to say about the drive. I still think they wrote a good article because they stated how many pounds of food the drive collected this year and compared it to last year's amount. They also told me who is the top drive collector and who is the second highest, which is good to know.

Yes, I would choose this news source again. I have used this one a few times already actually and they have interesting and the latest news articles. I also think they have the most interesting ones.
